Uniforms and Mission

It is amazing what people can do with uniforms. Like with police, one
instantly knows what the person represents, and what we can expect from them.

I think the great Religious Order decline of wearing habits was because those
orders didn't want to be seen as "set apart", or better than us lay folks.

Such a complete mistake about the reality of it. Good Orders are "set apart",
and the call, by faithful example, is to step over and join them.

So PC-incorrect to say, but theirs is the better way. The lay vocation is
something less, perhaps not in theory, but in overwhelming reality.
