who need to feel safe enough to tell their stories

"many homosexual Christians whose relationships are criticised for being unstable while - at the same time - the Church fails to offer any support which might help couples stay together."
What a mess they have. Now there must be efforts to help gay couples "stay together"?
"It must also be about the lived experience of lesbian and gay Christians who need to feel safe enough to tell their stories."
What stories? Where do folks go to tell their stories? Apparently to some churches.
"The Very Rev’d Jeffrey John, Dean of St Albans, calls for an end to the double standard at the heart of current Church teaching which accepts gay relationships between lay people but bans sexually active homosexual women and men from the priesthood. "
Ah yes the double standard. A sticky wicket for sure. "Current Church teaching" says it all.
